The Cederberg might be very familiar to many of you adventure riders and thrill seekers. But next time you travel from the Mother City to my home town, take some time to smell the roses, and find some of the amazing stops and views before you get to the destination.

There are some magical places along the way to stop at. One of these special places is about halfway up the climb of the Gydo Pass. Once you start heading up the pass you get the first couple of sharp turns, you then get a "long" left turn. At this point there is a good view of the mountain to the east, or your right, going up the pass, if you don't understand east from west. Here you can turn left onto what appears to be an unofficial rest stop. Turn left up a steep, short little road for an awesome view over the Ceres valley. This view almost disguises the fact that you are travelling along a tar road. I have threatened to go up this little road for a very long time but have only done it recently, and I will surely make the time to do it again when I go past there next time.
Maybe next time I’ll even braai something up there....

Safe travels and riding...
What an awesome playground - the Capetonians are blessed yo have the Cederbergs so close to home!
